So get ready to blast off into the cosmos!

About This Costume Build

This guide will show you how to make a Nebula costume, as shown in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including her cybernetic implants and light-blue makeup. If you follow these instructions strictly, your nebula costume will be indistinguishable from the real deal!

If you are attempting DIY cosplay, this is a challenging project that requires advanced sewing skills and an experienced makeup artist.

Fortunately, we also have some no-sew options for your to use to complete an authentic-looking Nebula costume.

How to Dress Like Nebula

Blue Skin

The secret to Nebula’s blue skin is a two-part process. First, you’ll need light-blue face paint. The trick here is to get the right shade; you want bright, lighter blue rather than darker navy blue. Apply the light-blue base all over your face.

Next, create highlights by applying silver face paint with an angled brush. Use Diamond Dust Powder to add sparkle to your Nebula makeup. Add a few medium-blue streaks on your temples using Mehron Metallic Eyeshadow in Blue Ice/Blueberry Ice.

Finally, finish with a light coat of blue face paint over the highlights. This will give your nebula costume a slightly more natural look.

Weapons

To cosplay as Nebula, you’ll need a weapon. Since she uses two daggers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, make sure to pick two silver blades that are almost identical. If you want to be really accurate to the film, paint them black and purple.

About Nebula from Guardians of the Galaxy

Nebula is a ruthless space pirate and mercenary who was modified by Thanos to be his personal assassin. She’s also the adopted daughter of Thanos and adoptive sister of Gamora. Nebula has bone-white skin with cybernetic implants all over her body, including her arms and face, which were either surgically grafted onto her or replaced entirely.

In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, when Thanos invades Xandar and captures Gamora, he gives her cybernetic implants to make her strong enough to be his assassin. As punishment for trying to kill him, he grafts cybernetics onto Nebula’s entire body, including her brain.

Nebula eventually escaped Thanos’ control and became a freelance bounty hunter and mercenary assassin. On multiple occasions, she has tried to kill Gamora, who is always stopping her.
