Otakon: What to Expect
Otakon is where otaku dreams come true! A 2.3 million sq. ft. paradise, there’s so much to see and do. Get ready for an adventure-packed trip, and be sure to check out the schedule of events.
One of the most exciting events at Otakon is the AMV Contest! This is where anime music videos from all over the world come together to be judged. You can help choose the winners by voting for your favorites on Fri and/or Sat! Another highlight is the Art Show, where you can marvel at fan art and original pieces, or visit Artist Alley to meet hundreds of artists and see their works up close.
Dance the night away at the dance event with DJs playing different music genres. The Dealers Hall is where you can shop till you drop for anime and Asian pop culture merchandise. The Otacafe is the perfect hangout spot, where you can relax and even perform. There’s also the Lyra’s Formal Ball, a formal event for all ages with cosplay, music, and dancing.
Otakon has something for everyone. Treat yourself to a Maid Cafe, peruse the Manga Library, bring the kids to Ota-chan, enter the Masquerade, snap some cosplay pics in the Photo Suite, join the Portable Kaiju Super Battle League, or play video games.
